Height 195 cm or 190 cm
[edit]Found an interesting discrepancy in his height. According to UEFA he is 195 cm (i.e. 6 ft 3 inches) and according to Hull City he is 190 cm (i.e. 6 ft 5 inches). I doubt very much that his height has changed very much over the last years, and 5 cm is a lot, so one of the pages can't be correct. They are both as far as I can determine reliable though.
In the hope for a fast response to the question I have changed the infobox to accommodate the discrepancy between the two reliable sources and suggest that someone with the right connections gets the the information changed either with Hull or with UEFA, till that happens I think the infobox should reflect both "facts".
Waiting with hope for someone to solve the mystery and looking forward for someone to line the man up against a wall and recording the resulting measurement of his absolutely correct height. Thanks in advance. Regards. --ツツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 15:57, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- 2008 profile by La Gazzetta dello Sport used 190 cm. Matthew_hk tc 17:52, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I find it difficult to disregard UEFA entirely. There seems to be sources for 196, 195 and 190 and who is to be certain what i s right. I suspect there is a printing error somewhere and such an error could easily have spread throughout the internet landing us in a situation where we can find several sources for both claims. Which page is a copy of what situation. Does anyone know how to alert UEFA (or Hull?) --ツツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 18:09, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- or may be the measurement date or else? Sampdoria used 195 cm. Matthew_hk tc 19:53, 24 May 2017 (UTC)
- Interesting, it really seems to be a lot of conflicting sources here.
- Height is not exactly the same throughout life or even the time of the day. You loose height during the day and I think a good nights sleep will make you at least half a centimeter taller (maybe a whole cm). Gravity compresses the discs in our spine when we are upright so we are taller in the morning than in the evening, given that we keep normal upright hours and not work nights. So measurements will vary, but we are talking about one centimeter or less.
- One measurement could have been sloppy. We could also be talking about a mistake converting feet and inches to centimeters or vice versa. It obviously is all over the net. Hope he himself or someone else knowledgable and responsible sees our doubts about his height and get the various net sites fixed, It seems to be a lot of pages and quite a job. --ツツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 05:49, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

- I mean people stop growing up in height at 25, just not sure is that possible to have +5cm in 5 years from 2008 is possible or not. Matthew_hk tc 06:00, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think it is possible (or very close to impossible, the human body is a miracle after all), see Human height and the growth graph here. Growing up (in height that is) almost stops before you reach 20. --ツツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 06:24, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
We were not many participants in this discussion, but several users have added citations to both heights in the article. My sincerest thanks for their help. The citations I added for the height 190 have since died, but fortunately is archived. The second citation is to an italian domain which is now for sale. Last time I looked the page was still visible, but the archived copy did not work. All three citations supporting 195 (mine and the two which have been added) are very much alive and reliable. From this I draw the conclusion that he is 195 and will remove the 190 height with its references. Again thanks so much for finding and adding citations. Your citations have solved the problem as far as I can judge this. Regards from --ツツDyveldi ☯ prat ✉ post 21:50, 31 March 2018 (UTC)
BTW http://www.gazzetta.it domain was still owned by La Gazzetta dello Sport and the link was not dead yet Matthew_hk tc 20:32, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
